Summer School Q&A

Questions and answers about the BAI Summer School 2026

📍 Location & Logistics

🏫 Could you provide me the exact address where the classes will take place?
All weekday classes will take place in Salle 004, bâtiment 1, Campus Montaury, 2 allée du Parc Montaury, ANGLET. The venue for classes on the weekend will be confirmed during the session.
🚴 What do you recommend for local transportation?
Cycling is by far the easiest option for local transportation in Anglet. No more than 20 minutes from school to Bayonne, Biarritz, and the beaches in Anglet - and one of the best cycling routes in Europe (the vélodyssée) along the coast.
⚠️ Important Note
You have to reserve early given the number of tourists in the region during July.
🚌 Can we rely on the local bus system?
The Basque Coast has an excellent bus system that will take you from Bayonne to Saint Jean de Luz to Hendaye for a couple of euros. You can purchase group tickets that will allow up to five people to travel together.

🏨 Accommodation

🏠 When should I look for student housing?
Given that the Summer Session dates this year coincide in part with those of the Fêtes de Bayonne (July 9th to 13th) available housing in Bayonne will be scarce this July. Our suggestion would be to secure an option on your hotel/AirBnb as quickly as possible - and privilege options in Anglet or Biarritz unless you are a glutton for festivals.
💡 Local Expertise
We know the area fairly well, and would be happy to offer our opinion on any potential neighborhood.
💰 How much is the university rate for the Mercure Hotel in Bayonne?
The negotiated rate for 2025 is 110 euros a night for a standard single room, breakfast and tourist tax included.
⚠️ Festival Period Restriction
Please note that because of the Fêtes de Bayonne the hotel will only offer rooms until July 8th. Please see the comments concerning student housing.
